Purpose This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) establishes the guidelines, responsibilities, conduct, and service standards for Home Nurses associated with 2080 Home Care . The objective is to ensure: Safe and compassionate patient care Professional conduct Hygiene and infection control Timely and reliable service Respectful interaction with patients and families 2. Scope This SOP applies to: Patient care attendants Elderly care assistants Bedridden patient caregivers Post-hospitalization care providers Home nursing support staff Full-time, part-time, and live-in home nurses registered with 2080 Home Care 3. Eligibility Requirements Every home nurse/caregiver must: Be medically fit for caregiving duties Submit valid identity and address proof Provide recent photograph Undergo background verification wherever applicable Have basic knowledge of patient care and hygiene Be physically and mentally capable of caregiving responsibilities Maintain professional and respectful behavior 4. Reporting & Duty Timings Home nurses must: Report on time according to assigned schedule Inform the client and company in advance in case of delay or emergency Not leave duty without proper information Follow assigned shift timings strictly For live-in caregivers: Respect household rules and privacy Maintain discipline inside client premises 5. Duties and Responsibilities A. Basic Patient Care Home nurse/caregiver may assist with: Daily patient support Mobility assistance Feeding assistance Changing clothes Toileting assistance Bedridden patient support Monitoring patient comfort B. Elderly Care Assistance Caregiver may: Assist senior citizens with walking and movement Help with meals and hydration Provide companionship and emotional support Assist with routine daily activities C. Hygiene & Cleanliness Home nurse/caregiver shall: Maintain personal hygiene Wash hands regularly before patient handling Maintain cleanliness of patient surroundings Assist with bathing and grooming if assigned D. Medication Assistance Caregiver may: Remind patients regarding medicines as instructed by family/doctors Caregiver must NOT: Prescribe medicines Change dosage Administer injections or medical procedures unless specifically qualified and authorized Provide medical advice without approval from a licensed medical professional 6. Safety Guidelines Home nurses/caregivers must: Handle patients carefully and respectfully Prevent falls or unsafe situations Immediately inform family members in case of emergency Follow instructions provided by family or medical professionals Caregivers must NOT: Physically or verbally abuse patients Consume alcohol, tobacco, or drugs during duty Share patient information publicly Allow unauthorized persons into client premises 7. Emergency Handling Procedure In emergencies: Stay calm Inform family members immediately Contact emergency medical services if required Inform 2080 Home Care support team Follow instructions from family/doctors 8. Professional Conduct Home nurses/caregivers are expected to: Speak politely and respectfully Wear clean and decent clothing Maintain patient dignity and privacy Avoid arguments with family members Respect household customs and practices Maintain confidentiality regarding patient condition and family matters 9. Mobile Phone Usage Policy Personal mobile usage should be minimal during working hours Caregivers must remain attentive to the patient Excessive social media or entertainment usage during duty is prohibited 10. Attendance & Leave Policy Home nurses/caregivers must: Inform clients in advance regarding leave Avoid repeated absenteeism Coordinate replacement through 2080 Home Care wherever applicable Uninformed absence may result in: Service suspension Removal from platform Client complaints or penalties 11. Client Interaction Policy Caregivers shall: Communicate professionally with family members Follow patient care instructions carefully Not demand extra payments beyond agreed terms Report disputes or misunderstandings to 2080 Home Care support 12. Confidentiality Policy Home nurses/caregivers must keep confidential: Patient health information Family details Home address Medical records Personal photographs/videos Unauthorized disclosure is strictly prohibited. 13. Infection Control & Hygiene Caregivers should: Maintain clean uniforms/clothing Use masks/gloves where necessary Inform clients if suffering from contagious illness Follow basic hygiene and sanitation practices 14. Prohibited Activities Home nurses/caregivers must NOT: Misbehave with patients or family members Use abusive language Engage in theft or misconduct Sleep during active duty hours without permission Record videos/photos without consent Bring unauthorized visitors Perform medical procedures beyond qualifications Violation may result in immediate termination and legal action. 15. Service Limitations 2080 Home Care acts as a service platform connecting clients with home nurses/caregivers.Clients and families are advised to: Personally verify suitability of caregivers Monitor patient care arrangements regularly Verify qualifications independently wherever necessary Consult licensed medical professionals for diagnosis and treatment 2080 Home Care does not replace hospital, emergency, or licensed medical services. 16. Complaint Resolution Clients may report: Negligence Misconduct Attendance issues Safety concerns Hygiene-related complaints Complaints will be reviewed internally and appropriate action may be taken including warning, suspension, or removal. 17. Termination of Service Services may be discontinued in cases of: Misconduct Patient safety violations Repeated absenteeism Breach of trust Violation of SOP policies 18. Acknowledgement All home nurses/caregivers associated with 2080 Home Care are expected to read, understand, and comply with this SOP before accepting assignments.
